ADOPTED & IT FEELS SO GOOD!

We’re doing a happy dance knowing that these three ladies have entered our ever-growing club of ADOPTED DOGS! All three ended up embarking on big moves with their foster-turned-adoptive families and we’re so excited that they each get a chance at an exciting new adventure with their now FOREVER FAMILIES.

One of Real Time Rescue’s trusted Word on the Street (WOTS) volunteers who distributes animal food & supplies regularly in the Los Angeles area came upon a beautiful Pitbull mix named BLUE who he could see was very pregnant yet being kept tied to a tree all day with a large chain. After some investigation we were successful in connecting with Blue’s legal owner who actually lived 2hrs outside of LA and was not the person with whom she was currently residing... She agreed to surrender Blue into our care for only the time it would take for her to give birth, wean her pups, be spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, but wanted to assume ownership of her again after that. |

In a stroke of luck, RTR’s Founder lives only a short drive away from Blue’s owner in the High Desert Area. After stopping by in-person to ensure their home was safe and Blue would be loved and cared for if we agreed, we accepted a temporary surrender of Blue and full responsibility for any and all of her puppies. We also agreed to provide supportive care for the rest of Blue's life, including any supplies or veterinary care that might be needed in the years to come. As soon as negotiations were complete, we unchained Blue from her outdoor post and rushed her to a trusted vet. She spent the first 72hrs finally able to relax on a soft, comfortable bed and in a climate controlled environment, getting much needed rest before giving birth to a large litter of puppies! |

Mama Blue and her crew of 13 spent six more nights at the vet with round the clock care before transitioning to a very experienced foster. |

The Lucky 13 have been eating, sleeping and sticking close to Mama over the past month and seem to now be doubling in size overnight! We have started ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for all puppies, so fill one out if you want in on the fun! |

BEAR’S story is one of abandonment. His owners brought him to a boarding facility in February ’20, but never came back. The awesome folks at this facility worked with him when they could to help ease his anxiety and build better trust with humans, but were faced with the hard fact that they didn’t have an adoption network or the resources necessary to find him a home. Luckily RTR studmuffin MOOSE found himself boarding at the same facility & the staff opened up about their situation. We officially welcomed Bear into Real Time Rescue this month and he will be up for adoption soon! Is this the Bear of your dreams? Click for more on his story! |

DAISY came into RTR’s care after her owner’s building management would no longer allow her stay in their apartment. Prior to living with this family, Daisy was not well cared for and clearly used for breeding. At only around 3 years old, it appears she’s had WAY more litters than she should have. Besides being in need of a spay, Daisy also had a large growth on her back that had to be removed and chompers in need of cleaning pronto! Despite her overdue health needs, Daisy is the sweetest, most gentle potato. As she has been recovering from surgery with an amazing foster, we have found that she loves all humans, big and small and gets along well with other dogs. Interested in a spotted cherub? |

MEET OUR FIRST FOREVER FOSTER
|

BECCA a 16yo puppy-faced, now-deaf border collie came to us by way of one of Real Time Rescue’s Board Members who had taken her in when it became clear a family member could no longer properly manage his own care, let alone hers. Becca had gotten used to scrounging for human scraps and relieving herself indoors, so beyond a serious grooming to handle a coat full of mats, which as you can see did wonders, it was clear this little senior was going to need time, space and a patient and kind human to be able to properly rehab. Good thing we found ourselves the perfect foster family! |

It took Becca no time at all to settle into her new routines and bond with her fur-siblings, and human ones too. She’s even taken to boat tripping like it’s no big thing! We couldn’t be happier to have found such a loving pack for her to transition into. Due to Becca’s age and current health conditions RTR is not currently accepting applications for her adoption but will instead continue to raise the funds necessary to cover all costs related to her health and well-being, including prescription food and veterinary care, while she remains in the trusted care of her current foster! ARROW has been with Real Time Rescue since its inception and is the last of the original handful of dogs that started the rescue with us in 2019. We made a promise to stick by her side, care for and advocate for her until we found her the right placement. So far, that hasn’t happened, but we know it will. When we heard her long-time foster would be moving out of state and unable to bring her along, we put a plan into action to allow for Arrow to make a slow, steady transition to a new foster life with RTR’s very own Founder Seana Cormack, who luckily she knew well already… |

On The Ranch she has lots of land to run around on and even horses to befriend! It’s definitely a big change from city living, so we are going to let her settle in a bit before opening applications for her again. Arrow will only be adopted to a home with no children and as an only dog. She requires a stable leader that is willing to work with our trainer during the adoption process and open to the possibility of many in-home follow up sessions, all sponsored by RTR of course. Another of our favorite friends, HESSE who we’ve featured many times, is also on the move- heading out of state with her trainer and his family. We’ll sure miss her, but also hope this change of pace and environment will allow her to further blossom and live her life to the fullest! BIG KISSES! |

PUPPY GIRL ALMA JEAN is one of the MANY WOTS DOGS who we’ve been able to help stay happy and healthy this Winter. It’s not just food, flea meds and vaccinations that a puppy needs to grow up right, they need TOYS TOO. Being able to spoil Alma who lives outdoors with her Mama is a joy that we’ve been lucky enough to provide for many recently. This is possible not only due to your donations, but also from the help of our pals at Operation Blankets of Love who know that all dogs deserve the the luxury of a little fun! |

WOTS’ PRINCESS, who you may remember coming into the program after being stabbed in her Los Angeles based encampment, is now a registered Emotional Support Animal! Real Time Rescue was able to fundraise and facilitate her certification, vaccinations & vest purchase so she can finally be included in her Papa’s quest for supportive housing! |

GIZMO is an old guy whose body is riddled with tumors. An RTR volunteer has been helping his Dad with dog food and other basics for some time, but on his last visit reached out to the RTR Board about additional help for Gizmo. After viewing some heartbreaking photos we got him to the vet that same week. Unfortunately surgery isn’t a viable option, but we CAN do our part to keep him comfortable. RTR will sponsor monthly medication refills for Gizmo, which we hope will lessen swelling of his lumps and manage his pain long term. |

Unlike for our boy Giz, surgery was an option for PRECIOUS, who when we met in early January was suffering terribly from a giant cyst under her chin. Her family was considering surrendering her to the shelter since there was just no way for them to cover the cost of the expensive procedure she needed. The shelter they contacted thankfully suggested they reach out to us for help and BAM our community showed up to make sure this girl got what she needed! We’ll be keeping up with her, but so far she is healing well & SO MUCH HAPPIER! |

REAL TIME RESCUE is non-profit 501(c)(3) completely funded by donations, fundraising and grants.All donations go towards keeping the dogs you see here fed, healthy and up to date on all medical needs, giving them behavioral teachings often including board & train and allowing us necessary resources to advocate on their behalf.
