Bowie is 10 years old and his teeth were TERRIBLE. He had been struggling to eat for some time, and he was visibly in pain. When we told his parents we could get Bowie in for dental surgery, they were ecstatic, and this is all because of the support of our generous donors!

After Bowie’s surgery we went to check up on him and his parents, who are luckily off the street now and living in temporary housing. Unfortunately, we found that Bowie was inundated with worms! Not only were they coming out while he went to the bathroom but they were falling out of his mouth when he drank water and even came in and out of his skin (we saw it but we will spare you the gross photos)!!! Bowie’s stomach was enlarged from all the worms. They were literally eating him alive. Thankfully we were able to help Bowie with his vet care needed to get him healthy and get rid of those worms!

BOWIE

Bowie’s parents, who are unhoused, have been concerned about him for quite some time. Not knowing where to turn, they showed up at our WOTS Community event to see if we could help.

Bowie has a heart murmur so he needed chest X-rays prior to going under to make sure he was healthy enough for anesthesia. Good thing he was because his teeth were nasty! In addition to lots of plaque and rotten teeth, he also had a fractured canine that needed extraction.

We will continue to watch out for Bowie and keep you posted on how he is doing!
