WOTS COMMUNITY CLINICS

Since 2021, Real Time Rescue's Word on the Street program has been offering clinics in the Los Angeles area for de-worming, microchipping, vaccinations, flea/tick control and other health services for dogs and cats of low-income families with pets. We also provide dog and cat food, supplements, toys, leashes, collars and dog bowls as well as items of clothing, shoes and blankets for their human owners. During these clinics, we discuss the importance of spay and neuter and work with the owner to obtain a low income household voucher through the City and scheduling of the appointment. On average, we vaccinate and supply 20-30 dogs and cats at each clinic. This helps to control the spread of diseases like Distemper and Parvo. With the help of our trusted groomer, Go Hollywood Grooming, we are also able to provide grooming services to each pet that attends.

While the clinics primarily provide services and supplies, Vice President Summer Parker, RTR volunteers and veterinary technicians have become part of the community by building relationships based on trust and compassion. Many past clients and families come by just to say hello and reconnect. Many spread the "word on the street" to others to attend the events and have a better understanding of the importance of proper animal care.
