The adoption process at Real Time Rescue is relatively simple. We require an application and a home visit by one of our dedicated volunteers. Once your application and home visit ARE reviewed by our Board, you will be notified in writing of our decision.

REVIEW OF APPLICATION

The team at Real Time Rescue first reviews all foster and foster-to-adopt applications collectively. If approved, we will notify you in writing as well as reach out to you via phone to discuss the process, setting up the home visit and adoption fees, if applicable. If you are interested in adopting a Real Time Rescue dog, please note that your relationship will start with a 30 day foster phase. Please note that all adoption fees go towards the care of our rescued animals. All animals are spayed/neutered and current on all vaccines prior to being adopted.

HOME VISIT

All family members will need to be available for the home visit of any potential adopter or foster. This gives us a chance to talk about rescue, learn about your lifestyle and explain our expectations when adopting or fostering from our organization. If you have existing pets, this gives us an opportunity to meet them as well. We will also check the home to ensure it is safe for the animal- backyard area, gates, fences and screen doors, if applicable.

COMPATIBLE HOME

Upon approval, we will reach out to our foster homes, describing your home life and what dog we believe would be the most compatible fit for your home. We will also look within the dogs at Real Time Rescue Headquarters and determine who best fits your home dynamics. We will then coordinate a time for you to meet the dog. Please be patient as this is an "adoption process" and we want to ensure that our dogs are successful in their forever homes.

ADOPTION AGREEMENT

Real Time Rescue will take back any animal that it has adopted out. Per our adoption agreement, the animal will always be taken back into rescue and the adopter will be in violation of said agreement if the animal is taken to a shelter or given away. Please review our adoption agreement for further details.
