BENJAMIN BUTTON

UP FOR ADOPTION!

As temperatures continued to rise, reaching over 100 degrees, a pup, in great distress, was left tied to a pole behind a building with wounds covering his entire body.

Benjamin Button didn’t know if he was going to survive as he baked in the scorching sun with no food, water, or shelter.  He was badly injured from the severe bite wounds all over and he was severely emaciated with his bones protruding from his body.  He was dirty, caked in blood, and his head and ears appeared to be very swollen.  A decent human saw this sweet boy suffering and called Animal Control in hopes they would save him from his misery.  However, they refused to come out to help him.

Knowing that if he stayed out there any longer he would probably not make it we quickly jumped into action.  We got him transported to our vet where he received immediate vet care.  Our vet quickly began treating his wounds, ran bloodwork, started him on antibiotics/pain medications, and cleaned his ears.  We don’t know how else to put this but Benjamin Button is starving.  You can see every single crevice his ribs create and we don’t know the last time he has had a real meal.  Because of this, we must be very meticulous with his feedings as too much food at once could kill him.  We are taking it very slowly with 3 small meals per day to try to help him put on some weight. Benjamin will continue to stay at our veterinarians office for a week and then we have a foster home lined up for him to go to.

Although we don’t know what happened to our sweet Benjamin we will be contacting the local authorities to request they open an animal cruelty investigation. He is such a sweet dog who knows to sit, shake, and so far has shown no signs of aggression. He deserves the best life and that is what we intend to give him.

If you would like to help Benjamin Button, we have a wishlist set up through Cuddly or you can make a recurring monthly donation towards his ongoing care:
