LEFTY

ADOPTED!

When Lefty came into rescue he was about 2.5 years old and his owners were attempting to rehome him through a private adoption, but it was quickly realized that he needed serious medical and training support through a rescue. Lefty is an extremely anxious dog, who was under-socialized and had developed some undesirable behaviors. On top of that, this poor nugget needed to be neutered and had an elongated soft palate and stenotic nares, which means that the roof of his mouth extended out, blocking his airway, and his nostrils were almost completely closed. The combination of Lefty's anxiety and elongated palate put him in situations where he got so worked up that he literally couldn’t breathe! His fosters weren't sure he was even going to make it through the first few days at their home!

With the help of our amazing supporters, our little bebe had his surgery to get neutered, widen his nares (nostrils) and trim his elongated soft palate. The vet said his palate was English Bulldog sized! No wonder this little chicken nugget could barely breathe!

Lefty has come SUCH a long way!! He recovered well from surgery, and he has calmed down so much knowing that he can finally BREATHE!

This allowed his foster family to be able to focus on his confidence building and potty training to prepare him for his forever home, and we are happy to share that Lefty is now with his new family!

He was so brave and explored all areas of the home before grabbing his toy and wanting to play. Lefty is settling in well to his new routine and his family loves having him around! We're looking forward to more happy updates from our little nugget!
